The project Atlas Secreto is composed of a group of artists who predominantly work with painting and drawing, using the photographic image as a reference. In a shared joint work under permanent construction, this group has been creating an image archive, an image atlas – the «Atlas Secreto» [Secret Atlas]. At first only shared among the artists themselves via social media platforms, this group has been adding images over time that are used as material for their pictorial explorations.
Along with the painting works, these images are later made public during the course of the exhibitions and presented in a book format. The Atlas Secreto, investing in itinerancy as an act of broader sharing and intersecting, has been presenting its proposals in different venues across Portugal since June 2014.
