José Spaniol is a plastic artist and professor at the Instituto de Artes da Universidade Estadual Paulista – IA/UNESP. In addition to attending the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf from 1990 to 1993, with a German Academic Exchange Service scholarship, Spaniol also has a PhD in Arts from the School of Communications and Arts (ECA) of the University of São Paulo (USP). Early in his career, he used daily objects and established a practical poetic utility exchange, and since the 90s he has tackled the relationship established between architecture and exhibition venues.
