Corpo em Resistência gathers a group of video plays to become an experiment, shown autonomously at CAPC Sereia.
This is a «experiência muda» [silent experiment], returning to a «infância da representação» [childhood ofrepresentation] so that each video can be seen as a unique work. It can also be the reinstatement of a derivative place and time, in which the video regains its initial condition of common use in the familiar imagery of home video, through the process of desacralization against a mass media culture, in transit between device and counter-device, as Giorgio Agamben understands them, to a «profanização» [profanizing] process, in the sense that it is restored to its original function, free to give space to the battlefield of artistic creation.
In these six works by six artists, the body is a subject that, under pressure, resists everything, whether it be laws of physics, weight, hydrostatics pressure, force of nature, limits of territory, or oblivion.
