Cryptoportico of Aeminium of the MNMC
It is an exhibition about the achieving/right to individual identity in the public space, conceived from 1000 terracotta busts by the inpatients of Centro Social do Pisão, and from the recovery of photo series 22474 and 22475 by José Luís Neto.
Fernando Fadigas proposes a sound composition for the exhibition Insomnia at the Machado de Castro National Museum. With engravings made at the Cryptoportico of Aeminium, a symbol of the Roman Empire in Coimbra, it explores phantasmagorias and some sound textures intentionally placed on supports like vinyl records and magnetic tape, in a little live sound note to inaugurate and accompany the works 22474 and 22475 by photographer José Luís Neto and the installation of 1000 busts in terracotta. The piece, specially composed for this occasion, will continuously be broadcast at the venue during the exhibition.
