«The body says what words cannot.»
Martha Graham, dancer and choreographer
Six films are distributed throughout four rooms, each presented individually in a video projection/installation with one or more simultaneous screens. The films Ana Léon presents are some of the most recent, and part of a long series developed since 1995. These films are created in Super 8 mm film (silent), capturing each image — according to the animation film principle, by using articulated puppets —, and then are digitized and soundtracked. In these films, the «personagens» [characters], by expressing themselves through their bodies, evolve with the repetition of movements like choreographies in faster, slower, or more «sacudidos» [shaken] gestures, intensified by sound rhythmic figures.
