The rehabilitation of the University Courtyard sought to put in evidence the uniqueness of the University Palace, ensuring not only the reading of the historical memory of the building itself, but also its permanent contemporaneity as the symbolic centre of the University.
The proposed repavement of the Courtyard, which first of all safeguarded the existing underground archaeological heritage, ensured and even reinforced the institutional scale that is inherent to it, but at the same time gave it a more welcoming and comfortable character.
